Japanese manufacturers in all honesty are known for being able to delivery quality goods. It does not matter what the goods are; whether they are finished products or parts the level of quality is exceptional. Just look at the names of the top Japanese manufacturers and see if some of them have not personally supplied you with an appliance, device, part, or service. These are companies like Mitsubishi, Marubeni, Toyota, Mitsui, Itochu, Fuji, Sumitomo, Sony, Panasonic, Honda, and Nintendo.
Import/Export
The standard practice of most manufacturing firms in Japan is to import the raw materials, manufacture the goods, and then export as their finished product. The reason for this is because Japan is not rich in natural resources.

One example of this process is the ASIMO robot from Honda. Honda orders raw materials that would allow them to create the robot. This humanoid robot is then programmed to walk, talk, and answer basic questions. The homegrown contribution of Honda on the manufacturing of the robot is their technology and skilled workers. Almost everything else comes from other sources. Then the finished ASIMO will be sold to countries like the US, Canada, other Asian countries and Europe.
High Standards
Japanese manufacturers are also known for their standards. With their high standards, they push themselves to not accept mediocre much more failure. It isn’t often that one hears of a recall of a Japanese product which is why it usually ends up on the front page of any global newspaper.
Furthermore, the Japanese standards of quality are far more superior to in other countries especially developing countries and those countries that rely heavily on manual labor like China. Of course, China is realizing that mass production is no longer acceptable on the world market if it isn’t also world class. Once they start copying the level of quality found in Japanese goods, then anyone can safely say that they may be equal or better than Japanese goods.
